In the Nieuwstraat in Vorselaar you can find, since many centuries, the farm 'Schranshoeve', known to all as the family house of Cardinal Joseph Ernest Van Roey (° Vorselaar, 1874).
In September 2008 the restored farmhouse “Schranshoeve” officially opened. On that occasion the bust of Cardinal Van Roey was revealed. The statue was created by Willy Peeters, the artist who also designed the bust of the crooner Louis Neefs in Gierle.
The statue was donated by former first alderman Jef Olieslagers.
