The first day after a holiday I got a minor accident in the studio. My right thumb was temporarily unusable for modelling in wax or clay. Also drawing with chalk, working with plaster or other materials was impossible. After a few try-outs I discovered that it was possible to work with a paintbrush. I had not worked in watercolour since my student days. The first sketches that were created at that time now gradually begin to take shape in sculpture.
